This Low Voltage Authorised Person Course has been developed to enable competent electrical staff within an organisation to work safely in accordance with HSG 85 – Safe Working Practices (Electricity at Work) when planning to carry out maintenance and repairs on a low-voltage electrical system. It is an open course that covers all the key principles and procedures to ensure you can do this safely and competently, as well as ensuring compliance with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and other associated legal and guidance documents. Please note we are able to customise this course for companies who already have specific procedures and organisational structures in place.
Why Take This Course?
It is designed specifically for staff who are already working as a Competent Person or Maintenance Electrician on the low-voltage electrical system and are looking to move up to an Authorised Person (supervisory) role. You will learn a set of processes and procedures that encompass all the relevant regulations which can then be applied within your day to day role and made specific to your organisation.
Individuals benefit by gaining:
- An understanding of all elements contained within a standard version of Electrical Safety Guidance for Low Voltage Systems.
- Experience in producing Safety Documents for situations that may arise on any premises involving operations on an electrical system.
- Confidence in their ability to perform practical and procedural duties in accordance to the requirements of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and standardised Electrical Safety Guidance for Low Voltage Systems.

Employers will benefit from:
- Training provided from an Independent source with their candidate assessed on their suitability for the position of Authorised Person Low Voltage.
