2021 has been a revolutionary year for us with the introduction of the City & Guilds 5357 Electrical Apprenticeship Programme. We are so proud of our Electrical Apprenticeship programme offering, Samantha – our experienced Apprenticeship Manager, explains it best:

Why Choose Us?

There are several reasons why choosing Trade Skills 4U for your electrical apprenticeship programme is the right choice for prospective students and companies. We are not your typical Further Education college provider, and we pride ourselves on our bespoke electrical courses.

WE INTAKE STUDENTS ALL YEAR ROUND

Unlike most Further Education colleges, our dynamic Spiral Learning model allows candidates to join at any time during the year.

WE TEACH SKILLS NOT JUST THE QUALIFICATION

Most Further Education colleges teach in modules, which means the material is taught in blocks. Our “Spiral Learning” model is different, we teach the skills that you need at the time you need them and revisit them multiple times across your learning journey with us.

WE HAVE 4 CENTRES NATIONWIDE

We have centres in Gatwick, Coventry, Warrington, and Leeds. All our electrical tutors follow our standardised teaching model meaning that, wherever you are, you will receive the same high-quality electrical teaching.

If you are an employer and have multiple electrical apprentices across several locations, we are the one-stop-shop solution you need!

REGULAR BLOCK RELEASES

With most Electrical Apprenticeship programmes, apprentices are generally required to attend college for 1 day every week. This can be disruptive for both the electrical apprentice as well as the employer. Most of the time is spent recapping on prior learning which can be repetitive and not time effective.

We do things more effectively! Our electrical apprenticeship students visit our electrical centres once every month ranging from 3 to 5 consecutive days. This means your learning is concentrated, more time effective and less disruptive to your day-to-day electrical work.

WE PROVIDE ELECTROTECHNICAL CERTIFICATION SCHEME (ECS APPRENTICE CARD)

The ECS Apprentices Card allows apprentices to be formally recognised and work on-site to gain valuable industry experience in support of their training ( source ECSCard.org.uk ).

You will need to sit a short exam, which we will arrange and facilitate for you during the first month of your Electrical Apprenticeship Programme ensuring you have your ESC Apprentice Card as quickly as possible.

FRONT-LOADED LEARNING

We don’t solely focus on passing an exam, we focus on providing our electrical students with the skills & knowledge they need at the time they need them.

For example, in the first few months of the Electrical Apprenticeship Programme, we will start providing our electrical apprentices with the skills and knowledge to assist with basic electrical tasks such as wiring, terminating, fixing and electrical inspection & testing.

Some colleges do not cover some of these modules until the very end of the Apprenticeship Programme. At Trade Skills 4U, we continuously revisit these as you progress through your Electrical Apprenticeship Programme and build on your foundation knowledge until you are ready to become more autonomous!

EXTRA CURRICULUM TO ASSIST WITH CPD

At Trade Skills 4U we also provide lots of extra curriculum activities to assist with your CPD. Some of these courses are not generally included in the City & Guilds 5357 Electrical Apprenticeship Programme, but we provide them as standard making our electrical apprentices even more competitive in the workplace.

DEDICATED SUPPORT FROM PERSONAL TRAINING OFFICERS

Our electrical apprentices will have the full support of one of our experienced personal Training Officers (TO) who will see them throughout their entire electrical apprenticeship programme. They will be the electrical students’ first line of support for anything from career advice to safeguarding and more.

The TO will undertake regular 1-to-1 sessions with their electrical apprentices and provide direct feedback to their employers to ensure a well-rounded electrical training experience.

ACHIEVE GOLD CARD ELECTRICIAN STATUS

Thanks to the way our Electrical Apprenticeship has been structured, we will take you right the way through. From setting you up with your first ECS Apprentice Card all the way to endpoint assessment (AM2). This means, upon completion of your Electrical Apprenticeship with Trade Skills 4U, you will be able to apply for your electrical maintenance or electrical installation (depending on chosen route) ECS Gold Card.

ARE YOU CURRENTLY LEARNING WITH US OR WITH ANOTHER COLLEGE / TRAINING CENTRE?

We have designed our Electrical Apprenticeship to mirror our 4 Steps Electrical Course Programme. This means that if you are already training with us as part of our 4 Steps Electrical Course, you can quickly and easily convert at any point to our Electrical Apprenticeship without the need to start again.

This also applies to electrical students currently learning at other colleges or other electrical training providers as well as those who have already achieved either their City & Guilds 2365 Level 2 Electrical course Diploma or Level 3 Electrical course Diploma.
