Is this course right for me?
This course is ideal for experienced electrical installers who already have knowledge of:
17th edition wiring regulations (i.e. Passed your 2382 Qualification)
Inspection & Testing (i.e. Passed your 2392 or 2394 Qualification)
The Electricity at Work Regs 1989
You do not necessarily need to have the qualifications in these subjects as long as you have solid knowledge and experience. It is designed for both electricians and electrical inspectors looking to complete the Blueflame assessment and register with NAPIT.
If you feel you do not require this refresher course you can take just the Blueflame Assessment on it’s own.

NAPIT ISO 17024 Course Content
This course covers both theory and practical teaching. As such it is taught in our specially designed dual purpose classrooms allowing you to practice what you learn as you go. The course does not teach you to inspect and test but does build on your current knowledge of Initial Verification with a focus on periodic Inspection and Testing. At the end of the course you should be fully competent to carry out all aspects of Inspection and Testing as detailed in BS7671.
The main focus on the course is on Inspection and Testing with key areas covered as follows:
Safety and Regulations
Inspection Procedures and Practises
Safe Isolation
Initial Verification of System Design
Instrumentation
Testing Sequence
Certification
You will be taught using the latest tools for the trade. All materials will be supplied and all you need to bring is the required books.
Blueflame Exams and Assessments
You will take a multiple choice open book exam on the fourth day of the course. As long as you have passed the multiple choice exam you can progress to the practical assessment which can be booked in the next day or at a later date.
The practical assessment takes place over a whole day. You will perform a number of tasks on our specially designed assessment rigs throughout the day. Your practical assessment will be booked in once you have passed the theory part of the course.
Certificates
On passing your assessment you will be issued with a Blueflame Certificate of Competence approved by UKAS. You will then be eligible to register with NAPIT.
