This City & Guilds qualification can only be taken as an extension to the current City & Guilds 2399-13 Courses in installing solar PV equipment. This 3 day course will show you how to maintain and service solar PV equipment allowing you to provide a valuable added service to your customers.
This will also help generate a regular stream of income and give you the ability to provide a fully rounded service to all for all of your installations.

Why take this 2399-14 Solar PV course?
This City & Guilds 2399 -14 unit will extend your existing knowledge of Solar PV installation. Currently demand for solar PV installation is high, however as the current crop of installations age there will be increased demand for servicing and maintenance.

We will give you the theory whilst teaching you on real life solar PV equipment. This course covers:
The requirements for the routine inspection, service and maintenance of solar photovoltaic system installations
How to diagnose faults in solar photovoltaic system installations
How to rectify faults in solar photovoltaic systems
Exams & Qualifications
Course certification is awarded upon successful completion of both the written and practical assessments, this certificate can then be used as evidence of your training and ability to install and commission PV systems and will be vital to gaining MCS accreditation.
Please note that you must bring photographic ID such as a passport or driving license with you in order to sit the assessments on this course.

What experience do I need ?
N/SVQ 3 in Electrical Installation (Building Structures) or equivalent earlier certification (e.g. 2356)
If not covered by the above you must also have passed your 17th Edition Wiring Regulations.
What is the difference between the bpec and city and guilds solar course ?
The 2399 is aimed at larger scale arrays for electricians working in commercial and domestic sectors.
