Our Managing Director Carl Bennett was forced to retire from the Met police SO19 Specialist firearms dept after 22 years service due to serious illness, and so he understands how difficult it can be to change your career in the face of adversity.
That is why we have a genuine offer of a free place in our centre every week for someone either injured in recent military conflicts or one of our many Forgotten Hero's as featured in the recent BBC documentary by Col Tim Collins highlighting ex service personnel struggling to find their feet following their discharge from the armed forces.
Carl recently spent some time at Headley Court rehabilitation hospital and discovered he could do something practical to help service guys or girls with life after the military.
We are not a huge company and can't offer free training to everyone that is eligible so we have to select and prioritise those able to take the free training, based on need, please call us for more info on how to apply.
We also will offer discounts at our discretion. Check out the full details for more info.
Our forgotten hero's bursary was launched in June 2011 by Simon Weston OBE.
We employ service leavers as instructors
Understanding the excellence and professionalism of service men and women, Trade Skills 4U currently employ service leavers as instructors and are always happy to hear from ex-military personnel with the relevant experience of training and electrical knowledge. Visit our recruitment page for more information and the latest jobs.
We are involved in raising money for Help for Heroes
We raise money within the centre for help for heroes with a collection pot on our front desk. We have also raised money at previous events including the launch of our forgotten heroes bursary scheme in June 2011.
We understand you expect the best from your resettlement training provider
Carl Bennett established Trade Skills 4U after a brain tumour forced his retirement from special police unit SO19 in 2004. During his 22 years in the force Carl was involved with training police in using a range of specialist equipment including firearms. Having had first-hand experience of professional hands on training, Carl has applied the same principles and ensures we deliver the same quality of resettlement training here every day.
We are based right next to Gatwick airport. Not only does this make it very easy to get here from anywhere in the South East, it is also very handy if you are flying in and out of the UK on a regular basis.
More than anything we feel our history and relationship with the armed forces means more than anything we will always ensure you are taken care of. We are here to help so please call us today and speak to a course advisor for more information.
