Why take this unvented hot water course?
Unvented hot water training and certification is a requirement for any plumber who wants to work on unvented hot water systems. Part G3 of the Building Regulations define unvented hot water systems as a “controlled service”. As such, it is a legal requirement that all unvented hot water installations are notified to the local Building Control department.
We provide hands on training in our state of the art Renewable Energy Training facility on how to specify and design an unvented installation. Demand is growing for renewable energy heating systems so unvented hot water training will prove to be a smart move for any plumber looking to get ahead of the game.
Entry Requirements / Who’s it for?
This unvented course is for experienced plumbers and heating engineers. In order to attend this course candidates should meet one of the following criteria:
2 years industry experience of heating and hot water systems OR
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualfied in heating and hot water systems OR
Currently registered on a industry registration scheme such as Gas Safe, ACS, OFTEC etc.

Because unvented hot water is a controlled service this course is focused on the safety requirements rather than the actual installation. On this course you will learn
Whether the property is suitable for the installation.
Where to locate the cylinder
Recognise the various forms of hot water supplies.
State the functional requirements of unvented domestic hot water systems.
Design an Unvented system to comply with Part G of the Building Regulations.
Carry out commissioning of an Unvented System State and rectify common causes of faults in an Unvented system.

2 part exam:
Open book multiple choice
Practical assessment workbook
Following on from this course you will receive your NICEIC card as proof of competency in a controlled service.
As such 2 passport photos are required and should be brought with you on the day.
