A Solar PV Course Specific to Roofers
Your existing knowledge of roofing will be invaluable when working with a qualified electrician. This allows you get the installation spot on whilst the electrician focuses on getting the wiring installed. It is important to note that you will not be able to install solar panels without an electrically competent person present.
Our Roofers Solar PV course will give you the skills and the knowledge to identify and fit solar panels on commercial or domestic roofs.
Entry Requirements
Candidates must have a valid working at height qualification. If you do not have a working at heights qualification you should take our 2 Day course.
What's included:
Hands on fitting of solar panels at height
Instruction in safe working at height
Basic theory and environmental background
Different types of solar PV technology
Installation of solar PV systems (Fitting the panels to the roof, not connecting the electrical components)
On this course you will gain some basic theory, however in the main, you will be getting practical experience of working with real solar panels, fitting them to roofs and using the equipment associated with the Solar PV Industry (such as PAF bags).
NB: The entire solar installation will fall under the MCS scheme and therefore, the entire installation will need to be supervised and commissioned by and MCS accredited installer.
We are the only training company in the UK to carry out this training on our specially designed single storey training house.
This course represents an excellent opportunity for those in the roofing trade who may wish to progress their skills into something more technical. Following work with solar panels you may find it easier at a later stage to become a qualified domestic installer.
